The story has put so much development into this character - this specific iteration of the Ramuda design - that to kill him off would be very, very hard to do in a narratively satisfying way. Ramuda is physically and mentally an adult, capable of the same level of complex reasoning and comprehension of the other cast members his age. Cloning in the Hypmic universe doesn’t work the same way cloning in our universe does, so we can’t draw good comparisons between those or just about any other real life scenario. I can definitely see how this could be hypocritical, but while Samatoki and Ichirou are similar enough to real people that I can’t suspend my disbelief, Ramuda could only exist in a fictional world. I do try to expand upon characters whenever possible, so I would say that having their motivations be understandable is usually one of my intentions. I remember seeing your name on AO3 before, so thank you for leaving a message there as well. Thank you! What an unexpected but nice message. I always find myself looking forward to reading chapters you and your team put out for Hypmic because of this, the effort you all put into the project is amazing. Your prose is excellent and I greatly admire your written voice, and furthermore, the way you explore the characters you write in ways that are far beyond surface level leaves me feeling like I can better understand motivations of the characters, even if that was not your intention. I have always been fond of your AO3 works, and recently I have found myself rereading them quite a bit, and I thought that I just must bring you compliments on them.
